Northwestern Sweeps into the Final Four: Despite the best efforts of Gildas Lefrançois, the Northwestern Wildcats have won the Elite 8.
The Mississippi Rebels standout was named series MVP, even though his team lost to Northwestern 4-1 in the final game, and dropped the series 2-0.
"Hats off to them, they deserve to be moving on," Lefrançois said at Rocky Miller Park after being awarded his MVP trophy. "I just wish I could trade this trophy in for a chance at the National Championship."
For their part, the Wildcats celebrated long into the night, as they are now set to move on to the Final Four.
The Final Four matchups and schedule will be announced after the Elite 8 finishes.
