Message:
New York Held Hitless by Aiken: Atlanta Braves starter Brady Aiken said he was standing behind the mound when the scoreboard caught his eye, confirming what he already knew: He was one out from a no-hitter. For a couple of seconds, he didn't move.

"I took a breath and told myself 'This is the last one,'" Aiken recalled.

The left-hander collected himself, got the final out, and finished one of the greatest performances of his career.

The Atlanta left-hander no-hit the New York Mets 2-0 at Truist Park, finishing with 2 walks and 11 strikeouts, facing only 27 batters.

"I knew for a while it was a no-hitter," Aiken admitted later. "But I really didn't worry about it until the last out. I thought I just wanted to win the game, and then I realized I wanted the no-hitter, too."

This season Aiken has worked 111.2 innings with 125 strikeouts en route to a 7-5 record and a 3.22 ERA.
