Nationals, Sánchez Stonewall Myrtle Beach, 18-0: Jesús Sánchez of the Potomac Nationals spun his magic on the Myrtle Beach Pelicans today. He blanked them 18-0 on 5 hits, registering 19 strikeouts and no walks.

"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Sánchez said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."

Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Potomac skipper Cesar Martin said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."

"Jesús pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.

To date this season, Sánchez has registered 13 starts, 3-4 won-lost mark, 4.83 ERA, 91.1 IP, 98 strikeouts and 29 walks. Opposing teams have hit .290 against him.
