NYP Names Top Player of the Week: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the New York-Penn League, but last week David Walden of the Staten Island Yankees reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Walden rocked opposing pitching for a .350 average (7-for-20), 4 home runs and 9 RBIs to come away with the award.

So far this season Walden has 6 home runs and a .276 batting average.
