NCAA SEC - East Champions Crowned: Bud Alarcon called it "one of the best parts of being a pro ballplayer."
The Kentucky Wildcats left fielder was referring to winning a division title, as his club has just captured the NCAA SEC - East crown.
"There's not many better feelings than winning a tight pennant race," he said. "We worked hard for it all year, have our record at 32-17 right now and feel we're in good shape for the postseason."
It was the 11th time the Wildcats have won the division. It may be a high for Alarcon and his teammates, but there is certainly one better feeling he's now hoping for.
"Winning the National Championship," he said. "Nothing would top that."
