Moonshots: Menendez Knocks 4 out of Sight: Even 4 home runs was not enough for the Fort Myers Flamingos today.

The Flamingos wasted a history-making game from right fielder Javier Menendez, coming out on the wrong end of an unlikely 16-12 West Palm Beach Dolphins victory. Menendez put on a massive display of power against West Palm Beach, smashing 4 home runs in 5 at-bats.

"There have been a few times when I consciously tried to hit one out," said Menendez, "but it doesn't often work. Well, it worked today for the last one. I guess this day was just meant to be. I just wished it had included a win."

The Fort Myers right fielder went 4-for-5, had 7 RBIs, and scored 4 times in the game.

"That guy was basically unstoppable today," Dolphins manager Brian Barrowcliff said later. "Thankfully, it's a team sport."

Javier Menendez hit a three-run home run off Rafael Forero in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Rafael Forero in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Javier Villalobos in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Javier Villalobos in the 8th.

A look at his season totals shows Menendez with 19 home runs, .492 BA, .535 OBP, 42 RBIs and 27 runs scored.
