Miramar's Barratt Sidelined for Season: The doctors have spoken and Josh Barratt of the Miramar Sun Dogs didn't like what he heard. The 20-year-old first baseman is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Barratt sustained his season-ending injury during the Fort Lauderdale Pirates game yesterday at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while colliding with a player at a base. Today the Miramar medical staff reported Barratt had a torn meniscus and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months.

Barratt is batting .254 this year with 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 16 hits in 63 at-bats.
