Mets Pitching Ravaged by Perry: It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Justin Perry, it came around today.

The 22-year-old first baseman scattered hits all over Osceola County Stadium to pace the Jupiter Hammerheads to a 10-4 victory over the St. Lucie Mets.

St. Lucie skipper Mel Stottlemyre Jr. told reporters in the press room that "Perry deserves a hat-tip."

"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Perry hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."

Justin Perry hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Javier Escobar in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 8th.

Perry is swinging at a .303 pace on the year with 6 home runs, 35 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has played in 57 games.
