Metros End Matsumoto's Streak: The Candelaria Metros got more than the 4-2 victory at Akita Grounds today -- they also put an end to the 20-game hitting streak of Akita Magnets center fielder Yasuhiko Matsumoto by holding him without a hit in 3 at-bats.

After the game, Matsumoto seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak.

"I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today."

Matsumoto has collected 31 hits for the Magnets this year, 1 of them home runs. He has also netted 7 RBIs and scored 15 runs while batting .344.
