Martínez and Martínez Swapped: Sometimes a change of scenery can be a beneficial to a baseball player. That is the hope in St. Paul and Fort Worth as the teams came to an agreement today which sends 31-year old 1B Pedro Martínez, 21-year old minor league LHP John Bernard, and $506,482 in cash to the Cougars and 30-year old LHP Pedro Martínez to the Saints. "Only time will tell if this is the right move for everyone," stated the Fort Worth GM.


For the season, Martínez is hitting at a .227 clip with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and has scored 7 runs. He has 20 hits, 20 walks and a .373 on-base percentage.

In season stats Martínez shows a 6-10 record in 18 games, 112.1 innings, 72 strikeouts and a 3.77 ERA.
