Luna Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 22: Carlos Luna saw his 22-game hitting streak wither and die today during the Ft. Lauderdale Flamingos win over Key West at Halesite Grounds. The 25-year-old second baseman was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Key West Barracudas, but his teammates produced enough offense to take the game, 5-0.

"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Luna told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 22 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."

This season Luna is batting .260 with 101 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 46 times and has 48 RBI.
