League Suspends Burlington SS Intrieri: The suspension of shortstop Beckett Intrieri did not sit well with the Burlington Bees. Both Intrieri and his manager were livid at what both say is an unjustified 3-game suspension issued today by league officials. Intrieri was suspended for "inappropriate conduct" during a game against the Waterloo Llamas yesterday at Ballpark of Burlington.

Intrieri was ejected from the game for arguing a strike call. "It's not right," he said, adding, "I didn't do anything to deserve this. Eject me, but don't suspend me."

His manager also vented his displeasure. "Arguments go on all the time, face-to-face, and there's not a suspension. To be suspended is ridiculous. That's bull."

Intrieri did more than just argue the call, he threw his bat at the feet of the umpire and walked off the field. That is the main reason the league suspended him.

In this current campaign Intrieri is hitting at a .222 clip with 1 home run and 16 RBIs.
