Kooiman Hittin' on All Cylinders: The Nicholls State Colonels topped the San Jose State Spartans by a score of 13-10 at San Jose Municipal Stadium today but all the talk was on right fielder Carsten Kooiman.

The Nicholls State star hit for the cycle in a show-stealing performance, powering his club to the win. Kooiman went 4-for-5, collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to go along with 4 RBI and 3 runs scored.

"I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Kooiman said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me - the ball seemed that big. And it just floated in."

Carsten Kooiman hit a solo-shot off Burton Goyer in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, hit a sac fly in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
