Knights Advance to Championship: The Charlotte Knights have beaten the Durham Bulls in the Round 1, despite a strong performance from Bulls left fielder Ryan Ward.
Ward was given MVP honors for his performance even though his team came out on the losing end of the series.
"It's a good news, bad news thing I guess," he said. "Unfortunately the bad news is really bad -- our season is over."
Charlotte won the final game by a score of 3-1 at BB&T Ballpark and took the series 3-1.
The Charlotte Knights don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Toledo Mud Hens - Rochester Red Wings series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Championship schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
