Jones Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 20: Bob Jones saw his 20-game hitting streak wither and die today during the New York Knickerbockers win over Cleveland at Knickerbocker Stadium. The 33-year-old third baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Cleveland Bobcats, but his teammates produced enough offense to take the game, 4-3.

"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Jones told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 20 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."
