Injury Brings Season to End for Vanderzee: Rod Vanderzee has to call it a season. The New York Yankees reliever learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 08/24/2022 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as a torn ulnar collateral ligament and stated that he would not be able to play for 14 months. The team will likely place Vanderzee on the injured list today.

This year Vanderzee has pitched 65.1 innings over 35 relief appearances, picking up no saves and held opponents to a .192 average. Vanderzee has a 1-2 record with a 2.62 ERA and 83 strikeouts.
