Message:
Houston, on Top of His Game, Beats Mexico City, 3-0: The Laredo Border Jumpers shut out the Mexico City Diablos 3-0 today behind the strong pitching of Keith Houston. Houston surrendered only 2 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 4.

Following the last out, Houston appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Mexico City manager Terry Farrand, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Houston's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart.

The Diablos skipper would not comment on the exchange, but at the Border Jumpers press conference, Houston confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.

"He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Houston said.

"And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Laredo manager added.

Presently Houston has a 12-9 mark in 26 starts with a 4.99 ERA. He has given up 186 hits in 160.2 innings, struck out 119 and issued 62 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .293 batting average against him.
