Holley Crushes 3 Homers Against Los Angeles: The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Los Angeles Dodgers today.

Oakland first baseman Matt Holley tripled up on the home runs to propel the Athletics to the 17-4 win at O.co Coliseum.

"We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Los Angeles manager Sergio Saldivar said. "Holley hit the heck out of the ball."

In addition to the homers, Holley collected 3 hits in 3 at-bats, 8 RBIs and scored 4 runs.

"Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings."

Matt Holley walked in the 1st, walked in a run in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Blair Currie in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Blair Currie in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Danny Bell in the 6th and walked in the 8th.

This year Holley is batting .305 with 7 home runs. He has scored 18 runs and driven in 30.
