Gonzalez Electric in 4-0 Syracuse Win: The Buffalo Bisons were almost helpless today in their 4-0 loss to the Syracuse Chiefs and hurler Severino Gonzalez. Gonzalez kept the Bisons confused all game, spinning a 5-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Gonzalez," Buffalo manager José Soto said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 29-year-old right-hander had no walks and 12 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Gonzalez said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
So far this season Gonzalez has a 6-3 record with a 1.41 ERA.
