Gibson on Fire: Burns Bismark with 3 HR: Joplin first baseman Albert Gibson led the Miners to a 7-5 triumph over the Bismark Border Guards, crushing three home runs.

"He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said Joplin skipper António Glaviz.

Indeed, Gibson put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 3 hits in 3 at-bats with 3 runs and 4 RBIs.

"I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Gibson said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em."

Albert Gibson hit a two-run home run off Pepe Clemente in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Pepe Clemente in the 4th and hit a solo-shot off Steve Marshall in the 7th.

Presently Gibson is batting .243 with 33 hits and 18 home runs. He has knocked in 35 runs and scored 30 times.
