Giants T.J. Murphy to Miss Year: The season is finished for T.J. Murphy of the San Jose Giants. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Giants reliever suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Visalia Rawhide. Team doctors said it would take at least 10 months to heal.

Murphy has taken the mound for 17 relief appearances this season, nailing down 1 save while notching a 0-0 record with a 2.96 ERA. The San Jose reliever has limited opposing batters to a .213 batting average.
