Giants Plugged by Ghormley, Rawhide, 5-0: It wasn't easy but the Visalia Rawhide made it look that way.
Starter Dan Ghormley shut out the San Jose Giants despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Visalia Rawhide cruised to victory, 5-0. Ghormley allowed only 3 hits and rang up 14 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
For the season Ghormley has logged 14 wins and 7 losses and struck out 215 batters in 167 innings while compiling a 3.88 ERA.
