Estribera Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Maine: Surprise Shockers first baseman Takechi Estribera finally met his Waterloo.
A 25-game hitting spree is now history after Estribera was unable to make anything happen in 3 at-bats today against the Maine Sea Dogs. Fortunately for Estribera and the Shockers, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game 6-1.
"We're a true team here," he said. "For 25 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day."
In 71 games this season Estribera has compiled a .325 batting average with 96 hits and 3 home runs. He has also scored 42 times and knocked in 34 runs.
