Espinoza and Williams Fight, Suspended 4 Games: The action was hot and heavy at a recent St. Louis-Arizona game at Busch Stadium in more ways than one. When tempers flared, both benches emptied and a mild melee ensued. The only thing hurt was a few players' pride. Two of the main figures in the brawl were suspended today by league officials. The Cardinals Juan Espinoza and Arizona's Malcolm Williams will each miss 4 games for their roles in the fight.

"We do not condone this kind of behavior on the field," the league announcement read. "As such, we believe that this punishment fits the actions taken by these two players. We hope that there will not be a repeat of the incident or else the consequences will be even more severe."

This year Espinoza is hitting .262, produced 15 RBIs and 4 home runs, scored 12 times and gotten on base at a .330 rate.

Over the season, Williams has made 5 relief appearances with no saves. He has K'd 3 batters in 3.1 innings, yielded 2 walks and has a 13.50 ERA. Williams's record this year is 0-0.
