Message:
Emeralds, Higuera Stonewall Yakima Valley, 11-0: The Eugene Emeralds shut out the Yakima Valley Pippins 11-0 today behind the strong pitching of David Higuera. Higuera surrendered only 2 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 2.

Following the last out, Higuera appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Yakima Valley manager Jorge Rivera, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken left-hander as the clubs left the field. Higuera's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart.

The Pippins skipper would not comment on the exchange, but at the Emeralds press conference, Higuera confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.

"He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Higuera said.

"And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Eugene manager Juan Mora added.

To date this year, Higuera shows a 3-2 record, 7 starts, 48 innings, 21 strikeouts and a 2.06 ERA.
