Drillers Chill Petit's Hot Streak: Cory Petit, first baseman for the New Orleans Voodoo, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 1 tries against the Dallas Drillers today. Not only did the Drillers break his 33-game hitting streak, they also beat New Orleans by the score of 6-5.
"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Petit said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
