Diego Moreno Injured, Out for Season: Diego Moreno of the Pioneers just might have to call it quits for the season. The 36-year-old New Jersey reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the New York Mets recently at Cognizant Grounds at the Meadowlands. Moreno suffered a damaged elbow ligament while throwing a pitch. The Pioneers medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 13 months.
This year Moreno has chalked up a 5.72 ERA with 1 save. In 36 relief appearances he has put up a 0-2 won-lost mark and struck out 35 batters in 39.1 innings.
