DJ LeMahieu of the New York Yankees put it all together this year and led the American League with a .326 batting average (207-for-635).
The Yankees second baseman played in 155 games, ending the season with 35 doubles, 3 triples, 20 home runs, 107 runs and 87 RBI.
"When you work hard, good things happen," LeMahieu explained to reporters after winning the coveted award. "Slumps happen to everyone, but you won't break out of one without hard work. I think that's one of the prime reasons for my success this season."
