Crawdads Dominate, Sweep Round 1: The Hickory Crawdads have swept the Delmarva Shorebirds and are on to the Championship. Hickory won 10-2 today at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium to clinch the Round 1.
"We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Hickory left fielder Javier Pimentel, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning."
Pimentel won the award with a .417 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.
