Charlotte Sweeps into the Division Championship: It's a sweet sweep for the Charlotte Webs and they have won the Wildcard Round. The Pittsburgh Yellow Jacket were not able to keep pace with the Webs and dropped the series in short order, losing 6-5 in the deciding game.
"This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Pittsburgh manager Terry Duncan.
It's now on to the Division Championship for Charlotte after their 2-0 series win.
Leading the way for the winners was left fielder Yeong-il Han, who was named MVP. For the series, Han hit .429 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Charlotte Webs will play against the Nahanni Valley Wolves in the next round. Nahanni Valley had a bye in the Wildcard Round. The Division Championship schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Round finishes.
