Brooks Mathews Sidelined for Season: Brooks Mathews has to call it a season. The Nantucket Orcas reliever sustained a season-ending injury against the Minnesota Death Stars and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Mathews was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as shoulder inflammation and stated that he would not be able to play for 8 months.

Looking at his season stats to date, Mathews has 2 saves in 27 relief appearances with a 4-1 record and 5.26 ERA.
