Boston Red Sox Ship Costello to New York: It likely won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets finalized a trade today. Boston will send 24-year old minor league RF Juan Costello to the Mets, while the Red Sox will receive 30-year old RHP Zach Lee.

"We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," Red Sox general manager Brett Jackson said.

The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players joining their new ballclubs by the end of the day.

Currently Costello is batting .253 with 4 home runs, 9 RBIs and 12 runs scored.

Season-to-date Lee has no saves in 29 relief appearances with a 1-1 record and 2.99 ERA.
