Bob Miller Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year: Kansas City starting pitcher Bob Miller could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn back muscle. He exited yesterday's Border City game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Miller would be out 4 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

This year Miller has recorded a 7-6 mark. In 21 starts he has fanned 107 batters in 114.2 innings with a 4.94 ERA.
