Blue Wahoos Beat Biscuits in Championship: The Pensacola Blue Wahoos ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Montgomery Biscuits 5-4 to win the Championship.
Pensacola won the series 4-2, capturing the title for the 1st time.
"We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Pensacola manager Shawn Stiffler. "It's a great feeling."
The champs finished the regular season 75-67 and claimed third place in the South.
In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and first baseman T.J. Brey said the Blue Wahoos have "great fans and they deserve this."
"I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
