Blue Jays Prevail, as Sweet Sixteen Goes to the Wire: The fans in Creighton are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Clemson.

The Creighton Blue Jays finished off the Clemson Tigers 6-5 in the deciding game of the Sweet Sixteen played at Bass Ballpark.

They took the series 2-1 and will now head to the Elite 8.

For his standout play, Creighton center fielder Mark Nolan was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.

He batted .308, drove in 6 runs and scored 4 to lead his club to victory.

"We could never really figure out how to pitch to Nolan and that doomed us," said Tigers manager Bryan Keys. "Hats off to Creighton, though. That was a great series."

The Elite 8 matchups and schedule will be announced after the Sweet Sixteen finishes.
