That was the news from the Biscuits clubhouse today as it was learned that reliever Nolan Hoffman will be out for an added one week as a result of a recent injury. His treatment for a forearm strain will have to be extended. Initially it didn't seem the injury was a major concern, but the Montgomery reliever told team trainers of some discomfort yesterday morning, and upon examination it was determined to be a more serious injury. "We'd rather take this thing slowly and make sure Nolan gets back onto the field healthy," said the team's head trainer.
Hoffman has taken the mound for 43 relief appearances this season, nailing down 2 saves while notching a 3-2 record with a 1.61 ERA. The Montgomery reliever has limited opposing batters to a .194 batting average.
