Azagba Earns PL Rookie of Month: The outstanding rookie has been named for July -- and the winner is Modeste Azagba.
The United States Premier League awarded the trophy to him today in a press conference.
It was his dazzling 4-0 record that brought the Greenville starter the Rookie of the Month award.
Azagba stood out last month with a 1.29 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 28 innings, fanned 19 and held other teams to a .189 average.
Up to now Azagba has compiled an ERA of 2.31 with a 7-1 mark over 15 starts. He has 62 strikeouts in 78 innings and has held opponents to a .240 batting average.
