Awano 5-for-5 Against Cocorit: It was a hits blitz for Tamuramaro Awano at Ballpark of Czrdoba today.
The Cordoba Ants third baseman tore into the Cocorit Sawfish for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it wasn't enough to win the game. The Sawfish swept past the Ants 10-9 to ruin Awano's day.
"We weren't locating our pitches well," Cordoba manager explained after the game. "Once you get behind in the count, you have to make really good pitches, rather than pretty good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Getting 5 hits from Tamuramaro was nice but it wasn't enough."
Tamuramaro Awano singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Awano currently has a .322 batting average with 112 hits, 2 homers, 36 RBIs, 50 runs scored and a .373 OBP.
