5-for-7 Game for Russell: 5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Moss Beach's Bob Russell made it happen today against the Buzzards. Everything came together at the plate for the 21-year-old shortstop as he collected 5 hits in 7 at-bats -- and led the Mosquitos to a 28-4 win at Frontierland Park.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Russell said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Bob Russell singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Takiji Fukushima in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
Russell is presently hitting at a .393 pace with 1 home run, 15 RBIs and has scored 14 times.
