5-Hit Blitz by Salmon: It was high-fives all around for Jefferson Salmon at Hyde Park Stadium today.

He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Detroit Wolverines. Salmon smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 5-4 win.

"Jefferson was hitting everything," said Hawks manager Mike Flaherty. "It really was a special game for him."

In the opposing dugout, Wolverines manager Alex Wobbema told BNN beat writers that Salmon "ambushed" the club.

"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Salmon oversleeps next time."

Jefferson Salmon singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 10th.

So far this year Salmon is batting .290 with 3 home runs.
