I felt for a number of reasons%2C we needed new direction%2C invigoration and to play with more enthusiasm.%22%0A%0ACollins told BNN%2C %22I had a wonderful time with the Ducks. They gave me a great opportunity. They revived my interest in baseball and really gave me a great opportunity to expand my career. I%27m more grateful for the job they gave me than I am saddened and upset by the firing.%22%0A%0A%22We%27ve got a lot of work to do%2C%22 the general manager said%2C %22and in the next several days we%27re going to sit down and examine all aspects of the operation.
